Brightness Management
System, Workspaces Lighting |
 |
Ways of working are changing
radically. Information Technology now enables us
to use time and space in more creative ways.
Office design plays a pivotal role in
encouraging and supporting innovative ways of
working. Considering the above, modern workspace
lighting will also have to transform. For over a
decade, lighting has been designed predominantly
around the needs of VDTs, with little concern
for the overall visual comfort of the people who
work there.
We, at Wipro
Lighting strongly believe in enhancing the
effectiveness and efficiency of the people
through good quality of lighting.
|
| Our Brightness
Management philosophy will help in designing the
workspaces for: |
 |
Visually balanced lighting
i.e. good light distribution in horizontal &
vertical planes |
 |
Low contrast in working area
(near field) |
 |
Low contrast on walls and
ceilings (far field) |
 |
Lighting for the space, not
just for the work
surface | |
Our approach emerges
from the real requirements of office work, where
the physiology of the eye and the psychology of
the person are given priority over notional lux
levels and wrong interpretation of LG3
guidelines (which were misinterpreted with focus
only on avoidance of VDT reflections).
Brightness Management is a design philosophy,
which recognizes the critical issue in modern
workspace lighting is a ratio of relative
brightness of all the principal surfaces within
a space and the workspace itself.
Hence,
designers should address the illumination of
major vertical and horizontal surfaces and
select and position luminaires to achieve good
visual balance.
Through this Brightness
Management philosophy, we offer the designers
and specifiers a range of innovative lighting
concepts that have been tried and tested in a
variety of modern workspaces.
By
using Brightness Management, designers can
transform the offices into cheerful, vibrant,
energetic and people centric
environments.
