They wanted to achieve a Platinum Green Building status for the facility by reducing lighting energy consumption, all the while providing computerised control of lighting along with personal lighting control for individuals in the meeting rooms. Wipro developed an intelligent, network based Lighting Management system that helped improve light quality and workplace ergonomics and reduced energy consumption up to 30%.
NetApp, Inc. is a provider of storage and data management solutions. They approached Wipro for lighting management systems to convert their Bangalore facility into an intelligent and smart building. Wipro was successful in making the best use of ambient and artificial light with a latest network based Lighting Management system.
Cipla was looking for energy-efficient lighting solutions for their office building along with electricity savings, without compromising on their staff’s convenience and comfort. The lighting solutions offered by Wipro were intelligent, efficient, cost-effective, user-friendly and reliable.
Technopolis is one of the largest green buildings in India. Wipro was roped in to provide the energy efficient lighting and lighting control designs to meet the design criteria of 1.3W/sq.ft as per US-LEED. Wipro proposed three key solutions; the use of energy efficient luminaires, occupation detection sensors and daily light sensors.
The Museum of Anthropological Survey at Nagpur houses about 2300 specimens from tribes and other communities. The lighting provided by Wipro; was created to facilitate optimum viewing conditions, conserve energy and protect exhibits from fading. Wipro was successful in developing a flexible lighting system to adjust light levels and promoting energy saving through the use of next generation CDMT lamps. This project was a prime example of Wipro’s philosophy of innovation and design through development of application specific products.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) - Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan is one of the first government buildings in India with the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Green Certification as well as Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) Certification. The goal was to build this institution as a complete green building and help the client achieve a Gold certification rating. Wipro used the best in class products that ultimately helped the client achieve a Platinum rating.
The Bangalore International Airport was redesigned to accommodate 12 million passengers a year and is expected to handle 18 million passengers in 2015. With a larger terminal, number of aircraft stands, new taxiway layouts and supporting infrastructure. Industrial areas like Maintenance Building and Pump Rooms were with rugged luminaires for longer life, while office areas were fitted with Brightness Management luminaires. The lights provided were not only energy efficient, aesthetically appealing as well.
The Bangalore Elevated Tollway Limited (BETL) is an 11.5 Km long express way that required different areas to be illuminated as per NHAI requirements. Wipro proposed the use of high performance street lights and specially developed under carriage luminaires with vibration dampeners to achieve design results.
The Integral Coach Factory (ICF), a production unit of the Ministry of Railways manufactured 70 stainless steel EMU trains with 12 coaches supplied by Siemens under Mumbai Urban Transport Project Phase – I. Wipro provided energy-efficient, high performance luminaires for these railway coaches as per RDSO requirements. These luminaires were developed with theft proof and vandal resistant design features, specifically to withstand heavy vibrations. Wipro is proud to have been associated with the Mumbai Suburban Rail system.
